SEK International School El Castillo it is located in a privileged area Northwest of Madrid. The location is ideal for boarders, living in contact with nature, just 15-minute’s from the centre of Madrid.

Option with and without accommodation.
Students who opt for the accommodation option will stay at the school’s boarding halls, located on the campus itself.
The residence hall has limited places.

Aimed at all those students between 15 and 18 years old interested in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, either in person or online.

SEK Education Group has been authorised by the IB to deliver the Diploma Programme 100% online and is one of the four schools worldwide authorised to offer this modality.

Registered students have the opportunity to request up to five individual online tutorials for the continuity of their programme once the course ends.
Twice a week, students will go on a cultural outing to immerse themselves in the country’s culture.

In addition, on weekends there will be a cultural outing to a nearby city in addition to sports and leisure activities.

Pre-IB Course

  • 15- and 16-year-old students who begin the Diploma Programme and seek academic and personal success.
  • Programme designed to cover three or five main subjects, expandable to two additional subjects.
  • Bolster skills (methodological and research) to carry out the programme successfully
  • Combined with outdoor sports in its own sports facilities: horse riding, tennis, swimming, etc.


Pre-IB Learning Objectives

  • Prepare students to develop the skills necessary to face the pace of the programme and work on the ability to face the high demands of the Diploma Programme.
  • Enhance the strengths of each student and reinforce their academic needs and learning abilities.
  • Promote the development of the learning approaches necessary for Diploma students in the field of science, language and mathematics.


Diploma Class Course

  • Students aged 16 to 18 who are about to begin their second year of the IB Diploma Programme.
  • Programmed designed for students to gain confidence in the subjects of their choice before the start of DP2, as well as delve deeper into the monograph and improve its preparation.
  • Combined with outdoor sports in its own sports facilities: horse riding, tennis, swimming, etc.


Diploma Class Learning Objectives

  • Improve the necessary skills that will have a direct impact on the achievement descriptors of the different subjects of the programme.
  • Provide students with a valuable opportunity to improve their academic results through intensive mock exam practice.
  • Preparation to pursue university studies.
  • Guide students in the effective research and writing of the extended essay, a central component of the programme.
  • Facilitate students in developing practical skills and mastering laboratory techniques, in preparation for the internal assessments of the IB Diploma Programme.

All SEK students regardless of their ID or country of residence.
Non-SEK students whose passport/ID/NIE is Spanish and/or that of their parents or legal guardians, or have at least one year of residence in Spain.

Students not residing in Spain

All non-EU students must process their Student Visa in their country of origin, before the start of the year.
The School recommends that the visa process be done at least 3 months in advance.
The School can provide guardianship services or recommends a provider.
Students resident in Spain do not need private medical insurance.
